DENVER, CO — Girls Inc. of Metro Denver officially opened the doors of its newest location at the Historic Clayton Early Learning campus in East Denver on September 2, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s commitment to reaching more girls across the metro area.

The grand opening featured remarks from Girls Inc. of Metro Denver CEO Kayla Garcia, Denver Broncos Foundation Executive Director Allie Engelken, Denver Mayor Mike Johnston and Denver City Councilman Darrell Watson (District 9). The event drew 130 community members, families, staff and partners for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by an open house, during which attendees toured the new space and celebrated the site’s opening.

“We didn’t just open a building. We opened a door for more girls in East Denver to have access to the Girls Inc. Experience,” said Kayla Garcia, CEO of Girls Inc. of Metro Denver.

Starting this month, the new 4,000-square-foot location will offer quality programming designed to support girls in East Denver with resources and opportunities to build confidence and lifelong pathways to success, including:  

• After-school programming for elementary and middle school girls
• Mental health services and wraparound wellness support
• Teen meet-ups and clubs for connection, leadership and belonging
• Career exploration, college readiness programming and mentorship from women in leadership roles
• Workforce internships and career pathway programming for high school girls

The new location is expected to increase the organization’s after-school program by 45%, serving nearly 100 additional girls annually.

Girls Inc. of Metro Denver will evaluate the first year of the new East Denver location as a model for continued expansion across the metro area.
