Girls Inc. of Metro Denver announces its 2025 Catalysts for Girls Award Winners

DENVER, CO – Girls Inc. of Metro Denver (GIMD) is excited to announce it has selected its Catalysts for Girls award winners.

These awards celebrate the unwavering commitment and dedication of corporate partners, community partners, and individuals who support GIMD through their passion and belief in the organization’s mission and influence across the Denver region.

This year’s Catalysts for Girls winners will be recognized at Girls Inc. of Metro Denver’s My Bold Future luncheon, an annual event that draws over 750 people who champion GIMD’s efforts in the community.

This year’s Catalysts for Girls Award Winners are:

Corporate Catalyst: Comcast

Community Catalyst: Denver Broncos Foundation

Individual Catalyst: Liz Gardner, Executive Director of DaVita Giving Foundation and former Girls Inc. of Metro Denver Board Chair

Additionally, Girls Inc. of Metro Denver will celebrate its 2025 Scholarship Program recipients at this year’s luncheon. Together each year, Girls Inc. of Metro Denver’s Scholarship Program and Girls Inc.’s National Organization award over $100,000 to girls who demonstrate a variety of skills that align with each scholarship’s requirements. As participants of Girls Inc. of Metro Denver programs, girls are eligible to apply for these competitive, post-secondary scholarships as early as 8th grade.

“Serving on the Girls Inc. of Metro Denver scholarship committee is an exciting and rewarding experience,” said Susanne Mombelli, Chair of the GIMD scholarship committee, GIMD board member, and Senior Corporate Counsel for Leprino Foods Company Foundation. “Listening to the powerful stories of girls and learning how these scholarships will help them achieve their goals and follow their dreams is a reminder of how valuable Girls Inc. of Metro Denver’s presence and programming is to our community.”

To date, the Scholarship Program has supported more than 120 girls who have gone on to pursue bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, medical, and law degrees and granted more than $1,000,000 in scholarships.

“At Girls Inc. of Metro Denver, we are incredibly proud to honor those who are driving change and empowering girls in our community,” said President and CEO of Girls Inc. of Metro Denver, Kayla Garcia. “The 2025 Catalysts for Girls Award winners exemplify the dedication and passion that are critical to advancing our mission, while our scholarship recipients continue to inspire and inform people everywhere that girls have the potential to transform our communities, our economy, and our world – for the better.”

About Girls Inc. of Metro Denver

Girls Inc. of Metro Denver inspires all girls to be strong, smart and bold. In partnership with schools, community organizations and at our center in West Colfax, we focus on the development of the whole girl. Girls learn to value themselves, take risks, and discover and develop their inherent strengths. The combination of long-lasting mentoring relationships, a pro-girl environment, and research-based programming equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers, and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. Informed by girls and their families, we also advocate for legislation and policies to increase opportunities and rights for all girls. Learn more at www.girlsincdenver.org.
